Five Dime Driftwood Restaurant,Taipei-Taiwan

One of the highlights of my trip to Taiwan was visiting this restaurant.
A very unique building cladded with the combination of driftwood, metal, clay and oyster shells.
It's not just awesome - it's stunning, breathtaking, incredible!!!The exterior is an architectural marvel adorned with 2 females;with flowing skirts and long curly hair.Their dresses are designed with circular patterns and spiral posts and they have multiple rings on their necks. Just like 2 tribal females. The restaurant has 3 floors and the lobby is on the 2nd floor. To enter the restaurant, you have to go up the ramp to the second floor.

The interior looks like an indigenous museum. There are a few pieces of sculptures on sale too. Every inch of the restaurant is designed with tribal things. The view from the upper floor to the ground floor is magnificent with a pond filled with swimming fishes and boats display.Even the restroom is stunning. The big heavy door to the restroom is decorated with a tribal male or female. The sink is placed in a womb-like clay structure with mosaic tiles. The majority of the artworks feature modern semi nudes; the paintings and three dimensional art pieces reminded me vaguely of Dali and Picasso combined. And almost the entire restaurant and furniture is made of driftwood collected over many years......

The food was excellent both in quality and value.  We were taken there for dinner by an inbound tour company; so I have no information on the actual cost though I gather that it was higher than mid market. If you ever in TAIPEI,'MUST GO' see and experience!!!It’s worth visiting and definitely worth your every penny. For those foreign culture-curious people, the Chinese name for the restaurant is 伍角船板 (Wu Jiao Chuan Ban).

After meal, take a stroll around the restaurant to admire the architecture ,sculptures and paintings ,at the same time to digest the meal in your stomach (◐.̃◐)
